Every great man/woman you see today has a story to tell, see the condition you are in now as the story you’ll tell when you become celebrated. Just hold on, your own time is coming on the way.

6/1 Workout

Going out tonight with my buddy to celebrate her new job, so today’s workout was a must do to kill any shred of food and/or drink guilt tonight. I busted my ass this morning and I’ve had a good week, so I’m looking forward to this reward of a great night. To jack my metabolism and get back in Spartan Race training, I did the Spartan Race WOD:

Warm up: Jog 1-3 miles

Main set: 25-100 burpees/ 50-200 lunges/ 5-25 push ups/ 50-200 squats/ Followed by a 1-3 mile run*

Cool down: 10 min [ease from a run into a easy walk]

*The transition from squats to the run should be quick and fall into your race pace. The point of following the full body set with a run is to work on your speed/strength/power transition, a key training component that deserves equal attention for anyone training for any kind of mud/adventure race.

This was a pretty fun workout and I’m not going to lie, my legs were almost dead halfway through the lunges. But this was just my second day back in the gym after a few weeks off, so I’m proud of what I did nonetheless. If anyone out there is training for Spartan Race or any mud/adventure race, I suggest using or adding their WODs. They’re killer and a fun ass kicking at the same time! =]

"What she was finding also was how one book led to another, doors kept opening wherever she turned and the days weren’t long enough for the reading she wanted to do."
Alan Bennett

"Games require skill. Running requires endurance, character, pride, physical strength, and mental toughness. Running is a test, not a game. A test of faith, belief, will, and trust in one’s self. So hardcore that it needs a category all to itself to define the pain. When game players criticize, it’s because they aren’t willing to understand, not because they’re stronger. Running is more than a sport; it’s a lifestyle. If you have to ask us why we run, you’ll never understand, so just accept."
